PhD Financial Aid

The Schools of Engineering has generously funded graduate fellowships opportunities to students in good standing relative to their PhD program requirements. This funding opportunity is intended for outstanding candidates in graduate study leading to the PhD degree. To be considered for assistance as an entering student, it is necessary to apply for admission to our PhD program with supporting documents. Funding levels tend to rise slightly each year.

MS Financial Aid

The department is unable to offer financial aid to Master’s students; however, Stanford University provides competitive funding to support individual Master’s Students. The Financial Aid Office can connect you with University and outside resources for funding, including ・Federal student loans・Federal work-study assistantships・Outside funding・Emergency funding (Some options are only available to U.S. citizens or permanent residents.)

Undergraduate Financial Aid

Incoming students have several financial aid options at Stanford to make their college choice a reality. For parents with annual incomes below $125,000 and typical assets, Stanford expects no tuition payments. With parental incomes below $65,000, Stanford expects no tuition, room, or board payments.  Annual costs for a typical Stanford student total roughly $65,000 before financial aid.

Coterm Financial Aid

Undergraduates with strong academic records may apply for admission to a coterminal master's program upon completion of 120 units, but no later than the quarter prior to the expected completion of the undergraduate degree. Full-time enrollment during Summer Quarters, as well as allowable undergraduate transfer credit, are also counted toward quarters of undergraduate study.
